Professional potter, Diana Smith, will offer an introduction to working with clay. Instructions and materials to complete a clay bowl will be provided. Afterwards, your bowl will be fired , glazed and returned for pickup just in time for Mother’s Day. Your creation with be dishwasher and microwave safe.

Today’s Mom aims to improve the dietary and physical activity habits of moms-to-be in ways that are sustainable before, during, and after pregnancy.

Six sessions will help moms-to-be understand the changes pregnancy has on the body.

This free series will cover topics such as:

  • Relief for common pregnancy discomfort
  • A babies development
  • Healthy eating for mother and baby
  • Reading food labels
  • Menu planning
  • Keeping active during and after pregnancy

Offered by the Michigan State Extension Program.

IPH presents The Blood Pressure Project

The Institute for Population Health presents the Blood Pressure Project. Come receive a free blood pressure monitoring cuff device, health education, and telehealth follow-up from a Certified Nurse Midwife or Certified Nurse Practitioner.  Prenatal and postnatal women will learn how to measure their own blood pressure. Participants will be served lunch and will receive a $25 gift card.
